Meet the Doctors in Birmingham, Alabama

Dr. Jeff Flannery is a board-certified pediatric dentist dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care to children and parents with special needs.

Dr. Flannery graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry, where he was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society for graduating in the top of his class. He then completed his pediatric dentistry specialty training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. While at UAB, he was selected as a Sparks trainee, receiving advanced training in the care of pa ents with special needs.

A passionate humanitarian, Dr. Flannery discovered his calling in dentistry while serving as a missionary in Mexico alongside his wife, Ellen. While working in street child ministries and orphanages, he provided dental and medical aid to children and found his love for dentistry. His ongoing commitment to underserved populations earned him a prestigious humanitarian award from AYUDA International for leadership in delivering care in Los Angeles, across the United States, and in Central America. Dr. Flannery is also an active researcher who has presented on special care dentistry at the Special Care Dentistry Association to improve access and outcomes for vulnerable patients.

In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Flannery is a visionary leader in organized dentistry and healthcare innovation. He is the dental co-founder of Highfive Healthcare in Birmingham, Alabama, and the co-founder of Fireside Dental Company, where he currently serves as Chief Dental Officer. He also serves as the Alabama Liaison for the Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Flannery and his wife Ellen are the proud parents of six children. He enjoys spending time with his family, participating in mission trips, snow skiing, and exploring America’s national parks.

Dr. Claire Walker Dowling is a board-certified pediatric dentist from Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She graduated from Auburn University in 2016 with a degree in Biomedical Sciences, awarded for a 4.0 GPA and selected as a Dean’s Medalist from the College of Mathema cs and Sciences.

Dr. Claire received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2020, where she was honored with both the Humanitarian Award and the Distinguished Student in Pediatric Dentistry Award. She then completed a two-year pediatric dental residency at Dental College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. Upon graduation, she received the prestigious Dr. Connie L. Drisko Professionalism Award in recognition of her commitment to patient care, leadership, and professionalism.

After completing her specialty training, Dr. Claire then joined the team at Oak Mountain Pediatric Dentistry, where she is passionate about helping children develop healthy habits, confident smiles, and positive dental experiences that last a lifetime.

She enjoys eating good food with her husband Cameron, attending live music events, tackling DIY and home renovation projects, and traveling to new places. Her warm, compassionate personality and dedication to serving children help make every visit fun, comfortable, and rewarding for her patients and their families.

Dr. Louisa Stone is a dedicated children’s dentist at Oak Mountain Pediatric Dentistry. A nave of Birmingham, Alabama, Dr. Stone graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science degree and double majors in biochemistry and French. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Dentistry in 2014. While at UAB, she received the Charles Barre Scholarship, the Alabama Board of Dental Scholarships Merit Award, and the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Award.

Dr. Stone and her husband, Michael, enjoy exploring Birmingham’s parks and outdoor spaces with their three kids. She is an active member of the Junior League of Birmingham and the Rotaract Club of Birmingham. Dr. Stone is passionate about working with children and families, believing that dental health and education are essential at every stage of life.
